Housing Placement Assistance
|
|
In an effort to respond to the overwhelming need of clients who are looking for safe and affordable housing options, TPCS began to implement a housing placement assistance program. The program serves to provide resource materials and information to participating Servant House and Agape Inn clients. Since opening its doors, a total of 54 families have moved into permanent independent housing. In addition, 6 clients who were not ready for independent living were referred to transitional housing programs. |

Case Management Services
|
|
Case management services are designed to ensure access to a range of services for the client and their children. Services begin with the completion of a comprehensive needs assessment to identify both short and long term goals and needs. Upon completion of the assessment, the staff and client work together to complete a corresponding service plan. The service plan helps to enhance a client's ability to secure transitional or permanent housing and to address training and employment needs. On-going referrals, monitoring and regular follow-up help the client achieve outlined goals. |

Food Pantry
|
|
Upon
entry into the housing programs, clients are given food bags to
help provide immediate stability to the family unit. Additional
food bags are provided to clients to help supplement nutritional
needs weekly and/or as needed. To date, TPCS has provided over 825
food bags to its clients and members of our community. Donations
for the food pantry are solicited regularly and assistance is greatly
needed for this important service to our clients.
Often, many of our client's require clothing when they enter our
housing programs. As such, the agency ensures that any client in
need of clothing receives this assistance immediately. In addition
to clothing items, basic personal toiletry items are also provided
to help promote good hygiene and to help a client and/or their family
members maintain their personal dignity. |

Women's Support Group
|
|
The
Women's Support Group Initiative is a series of support groups designed
to meet the needs of the women of all of the housing programs. These
support groups arose out of the need of many of the women who are
dealing with a myriad of issues and who desired to have a non-judgmental
and supportive environment in which to discuss their issues and
concerns. The group meets weekly and is designed to be a client
led initiative.
The Executive Director attends the group once a month to lend support
and to provide information about various resources available to
the women and the needs they present. Through a collaborative agreement
with Family Connections, Inc., a trained social worker helps to
facilitate the group on a weekly basis in addition to providing
individual counseling services to the women participating. |
